PHARYNGITIS n.
Inflammation of the pharynx.
PHARYNGOBRANCHIAL a.
Of or pertaining to the pharynx and the branchiæ; -- applied especially to the dorsal elements in the branchial arches of fishes. See Pharyngeal. -- n.
PHARYNGOLARYNGEAL a.
Of or pertaining both to pharynx and the larynx.
PHARYNGOTOMY n.
The operation of making an incision into the pharynx, to remove a tumor or anything that obstructs the passage.
PNEUMOGASTRIC a.
stric nerve (Anat.), one of the tenth pair of cranial nerves which are distributed to the pharynx, esophagus, larynx, lungs, heart, stomach, liver, and spleen, and, in fishes and many amphibia, to the branchial apparatus and also to the sides of the body.
