The letter Z; -- called also zee, and formerly izzard. "Zed, thou unnecessary letter!" Shak.
ZEDOARY n.
A medicinal substance obtained in the East Indian, having a fragrant smell, and a warm, bitter, aromatic taste. It is used in medicine as a stimulant.
