TYPOGRAPHY n. 2 definitions
The act or art of expressing by means of types or symbols; emblematical or hieroglyphic representation. [Obs.] Sir T. Browne.
AUTOTYPOGRAPHY n.
A process resembling "nature printing," by which drawings executed on gelatin are impressed into a soft metal plate, from which the printing is done as from copperplate.
ECTYPOGRAPHY n.
A method of etching in which the design upon the plate is produced in relief.
PHOTOTYPOGRAPHY n.
Same as Phototypy.
STEREOTYPOGRAPHY n.
The act or art of printing from stereotype plates.
