STATICS n.
dies as held at rest by the forces acting on them; -- distinguished from dynamics. Social statics, the study of the conditions which concern the existence and permanence of the social state.
AEROSTATICS n.
The science that treats of the equilibrium of elastic fluids, or that of bodies sustained in them. Hence it includes aëronautics.
BIOSTATICS n.
The physical phenomena of organized bodies, in opposition to their organic or vital phenomena.
ELECTROSTATICS n.
