SAUR n.
Soil; dirt; dirty water; urine from a cowhouse. [Prov. Eng.]
SAUREL n.
Any carangoid fish of the genus Trachurus, especially T. trachurus, or T. saurus, of Europe and America, and T. picturatus of California. Called also skipjack, and horse mackarel.
SAURIA n.
A division of Reptilia formerly established to include the Lacertilia, Crocodilia, Dinosauria, and other groups. By some writers the name is restricted to the Lacertilia.

SAURURAE n.
An extinct order of birds having a long vertebrated tail with quills along each side of it. Archæopteryx is the type. See Archæopteryx, and Odontornithes.
SAURY n.
A slender marine fish (Scombresox saurus) of Europe and America. It has long, thin, beaklike jaws. Called also billfish, gowdnook, gawnook, skipper, skipjack, skopster, lizard fish, and Egypt herring.
BALISAUR n.
A badgerlike animal of India (Arcionyx collaris).
BRONTOSAURUS n.
A genus of American jurassic dinosaurs. A length of sixty feet is believed to have been attained by these reptiles.
CAMARASAURUS n.
A genus of gigantic American Jurassic dinosaurs, having large cavities in the bodies of the dorsal vertebræ.
CERATOSAURUS n.
A carnivorous American Jurassic dinosaur allied to the European Megalosaurus. The animal was nearly twenty feet in length, and the skull bears a bony horn core on the united nasal bones. See Illustration in Appendix.
CHRYSAURIN n.
An orange-colored dyestuff, of artificial production.
DEINOSAUR n.
See Dinosaur.
