RACHIS n. 2 definitions
The spine; the vertebral column.
BOSTRYX n.
A form of cymose inflorescence with all the flowers on one side of the rachis, usually causing it to curl; -- called also a uniparous helicoid cyme.
CATADROMOUS a.
Having the lowest inferior segment of a pinna nearer the rachis than the lowest superior one; -- said of a mode of branching in ferns, and opposed to anadromous.
