QUAVER v. 5 definitions
To utter with quavers. We shall hear her quavering them . . . to some sprightly airs of the opera. Addison.
QUAVERER n.
One who quavers; a warbler.
DEMIQUAVER n.
A note of half the length of the quaver; a semiquaver. [R.]
DEMISEMIQUAVER n.
A short note, equal in time to the half of a semiquaver, or the thirty-second part of a whole note.
HEMI-DEMI-SEMIQUAVER n.
A short note, equal to one fourth of a semiquaver, or the sixty-fourth part of a whole note.
