PROXIMAL a. 3 definitions
Situated near the point of attachment or origin; as, the proximal part of a limb.
PROXIMALLY adv.
On or toward a proximal part; proximad.
CNEMIAL a.
Pertaining to the shin bone. Cnemial crest, a crestlike prominence on the proximal end of the tibia of birds and some reptiles.
DISTAL a.
the point of attachment or origin; as, the distal end of a bone or muscle; -- opposed to proximal.
