PODIUM n. 4 definitions
A low wall, serving as a foundation, a substructure, or a terrace wall. It is especially employed by archæologists in two senses:
ACROPODIUM n.
The entire upper surface of the foot.
EPIPODIUM n.
One of the lateral lobes of the foot in certain gastropods.
LYCOPODIUM n.
A genus of mosslike plants, the type of the order Lycopodiaceæ; club moss. Lycopodium powder, a fine powder or dust composed of the spores of Lycopodium, and other plants of the order Lycopodiaceæ. One of the lateral appendages of an annelid; -- called also foot tubercle.
POLYPODIUM n.
A genus of plants of the order Filices or ferns. The fructifications are in uncovered roundish points, called sori, scattered over the inferior surface of the frond or leaf. There are numerous species.
