PERCENTAGE n.
A certain rate per cent; the allowance, duty, rate of interest, discount, or commission, on a hundred.
ACIDIC a.
Containing a high percentage of silica; -- opposed to basic. an acidic solution.

The premium or percentage on a better sort of money when it is given in exchange for an inferior sort. The premium or discount on foreign bills of exchange is sometimes called agio.
