NEUROPTERA n.
examples. Formerly, the name was given to a much more extensive group, including the true Neuroptera and the Pseudoneuroptera.

Of or pertaining to the Neuroptera.
NEUROPTERAN n.

PSEUDONEUROPTERA n.
division of insects (Zoöl.) reticulated wings, as in the Neuroptera, but having an active pupa state. It includes the dragon flies, May flies, white ants, etc. By some zoölogists they are classed with the Orthoptera; by others, with the Neuroptera.

A division of Pseudoneuroptera including the species which have four broad, flat wings, as the termites, or white-ants, and the stone flies (Perla).
PSEUDONEUROPTEROUS a.
Of or pertaining to the Pseudoneuroptera.
TENERAL a.
Of, pertaining to, or designating, a condition assumed by the imago of certain Neuroptera, after exclusion from the pupa. In this state the insect is soft, and has not fully attained its mature coloring.
TERMES n.
A genus of Pseudoneuroptera including the white ants, or termites. See Termite.
TRICHOPTERA n.
A suborder of Neuroptera usually having the wings covered with minute hairs. It comprises the caddice flies, and is considered by some to be a distinct order.
