MORTGAGE n. 4 definitions
State of being pledged; as, lands given in mortgage. Chattel mortgage. See under Chattel. -- To foreclose a mortgage. See under Foreclose. -- Mortgage deed (Law), a deed given by way of mortgage.

The person to whom property is mortgaged, or to whom a mortgage is made or given.
MORTGAGEOR; MORTGAGOR n.
One who gives a mortgage.
MORTGAGER n.

BLANKET MORTGAGE; BLANKET POLICY n.
