MINING a. 2 definitions
Of or pertaining to mines; as, mining engineer; mining machinery; a mining region. Mining engineering. See the Note under Engineering.

Having power to examine; appointed to examine; as, an examining committee.
SELF-DETERMINING a.
Capable of self-determination; as, the self-determining power of will.

The act of adjudicating; the act or process of trying and determining judicially.

An instrument to measure the degree of sensation, by determining at how short a distance two impressions upon the skin can be distinguished, and thus to determine whether the condition of tactile sensibility is normal or altered.

An instrument for determining the strength of spirits, with a scale graduated so as to indicate the percentage of pure alcohol, either by weight or volume. It is usually a form of hydrometer with a special scale.

An instrument for determining the expansive properties, or quality, of gluten in flour. Knight.
AMYLOMETER n.
Instrument for determining the amount of starch in a substance.

ssect; to cut in pieces, as an animal vegetable body, for the purpose of displaying or examining the structure and use of the several parts.

The act of dividing anything, corporeal or intellectual, for the purpose of examining its parts; analysis; as, the anatomy of a discourse.

An instrument for examining the capillary vessels of animals and plants. Morin.
