LINDEN n. 2 definitions
A handsome tree (Tilia Europæa), having cymes of light yellow flowers, and large cordate leaves. The tree is common in Europe.

The linden or lime tree, sometimes wrongly called whitewood; also, its bark, which is used for making mats. See Bast.
