JURASSIC a. 2 definitions
The Jurassic period or formation; -- called also the Jura.
ARCHAEOPTERYX n.
A fossil bird, of the Jurassic period, remarkable for having a long tapering tail of many vertebræ with feathers along each side, and jaws armed with teeth, with other reptilian characteristics.
BELEMNITE n.
o the sepia, and belonging to an extinct family. The belemnites are found in rocks of the Jurassic and Cretaceous ages. -- Bel*em*nit"ic, a.
BRONTOSAURUS n.
A genus of American jurassic dinosaurs. A length of sixty feet is believed to have been attained by these reptiles.
