ced by divalent basic or acid radicals; -- frequently used as a combining form; as, succinimide.

id, obtained as a white crystalline substance, C6H4.(CO)2NH, which has itself (like succinimide) acid properties, and forms a series of salts. Cf. Imido acid, under Imido.
SUCCINIMIDE n.
A white crystalline nitrogenous substance, C2H4.(CO)2.NH, obtained by treating succinic anhydride with ammonia gas. It is a typical imido acid, and forms a series of salts. See Imido acid, under Imido.

CYANURIC ACID n.
It is a white crystalline substance, odorless and almost tasteless; -- called also tricarbimide.
EUCHROIC a.
Having a fine color. Euchroic acid (Chem.), an organic, imide acid, obtained as a colorless crystalline substance, C12H4N2O8 by heating an ammonium salt of mellitic acid. By reduction it is changed to a dark blue substance (euchrone), -- hence its name.
IMIDO a.
t contains replaceable acid hydrogen, and plays the part of an acid; as, uric acid, succinimide, etc., are imido acids.
ISOCYANIC a.
a colorless, mobile, unstable liquid by the heating cyanuric acid. Called technically carbimide.
