GRISE n. 2 definitions

Of a light color, or white, mottled with black or brown; grizzled or grizzly. Maunder.

A French girl or young married woman of the lower class; more frequently, a young working woman who is fond of gallantry. Sterne.

GRAMPUS n.
A toothed delphinoid cetacean, of the genus Grampus, esp. G. griseus of Europe and America, which is valued for its oil. It grows to be fifteen to twenty feet long; its color is gray with white streaks. Called also cowfish. The California grampus is G. Stearnsii.

ICHNEUMON n.
and hence was considered sacred by the ancient Egyptians. The common species of India (H. griseus), known as the mongoose, has similar habits and is often domesticated. It is noted for killing the cobra.
