FLOORING n. 2 definitions
A platform; the bottom of a room; a floor; pavement. See Floor, n. Addison.
APRON n. 2 definitions
A platform, or flooring of plank, at the entrance of a dock, against which the dock gates are shut.
BINDING a.
That binds; obligatory. Binding beam (Arch.), the main timber in double flooring. -- Binding joist (Arch.), the secondary timber in double-framed flooring.
CASE-BAY n.
One of the joists framed between a pair of girders in naked flooring.
