FEMUR n. 2 definitions
The thigh bone.
ANTITROCHANTER n.
An articular surface on the ilium of birds against which the great trochanter of the femur plays.
CRUS n.
That part of the hind limb between the femur, or thigh, and the ankle, or tarsus; the shank.
FABELLA n.
One of the small sesamoid bones situated behind the condyles of the femur, in some mammals.
FEMORAL a.
Pertaining to the femur or thigh; as, the femoral artery. "Femoral habiliments." Sir W. Scott.

The large bone between the femur and tarsometatarsus in the leg of a bird. It is formed by the union of the proximal part of the tarsus with the tibia.

One of two processes near the head of the femur, the outer being called the great trochanter, and the inner the small trochanter.
