EYEBALL n.
The ball or globe of the eye.
BASEDOW'S DISEASE n.
A disease characterized by enlargement of the thyroid gland, prominence of the eyeballs, and inordinate action of the heart; -- called also exophthalmic goiter. Flint.

over of the eye; that portion of movable skin with which an animal covers or uncovers the eyeball at pleasure.
GLAUCOMA n.
greenish tinge of the refracting media of the eye, and a hard inelastic condition of the eyeball, with marked increase of tension within the eyeball.
HYPERMETROPIA; HYPERMETROPY n.
A condition of the eye in which, through shortness of the eyeball or fault of the refractive media, the rays of light come to a focus behind the retina; farsightedness; -- called also hyperopia. Cf. Emmetropia.
