Having the nature of chitin; consisting of, or containing, chitin.

A genus of marine Bryozoa in which the tubular cells have a centralchitinous axis and the tentacles are borne on a bilobed lophophore. It is the type of the order Pterobranchia, or Podostomata

A hard chitinous or calcareous process or corpuscle, especially a spicule of the Alcyonaria.
SERTULARIAN n.
Any species of Sertularia, or of Sertularidæ, a family of hydroids having branched chitinous stems and simple sessile hydrothecæ. Also used adjectively.
