CHALCEDONY n.
A cryptocrystalline, translucent variety of quartz, having usually a whitish color, and a luster nearly like wax. [Written also calcedony.]
CACHOLONG n.
An opaque or milk-white chalcedony, a variety of quartz; also, a similar variety of opal.
CALCEDON n.
A foul vein, like chalcedony, in some precious stones.

variety of carnelian, of a rich reddish yellow or brownish red color. See the Note under Chalcedony.
SARDONYX n.
A variety of onyx consisting of sard and white chalcedony in alternate layers.
