BIOLOGY n.
The science of life; that branch of knowledge which treats of living matter as distinct from matter which is not living; the study of living tissue. It has to do with the origin, structure, development, function, and distribution of animals and plants.
AMPHIBIOLOGY n.
A treatise on amphibious animals; the department of natural history which treats of the Amphibia.

ZOOLOGY; ZOOELOGY n.
That part of biology which relates to the animal kingdom, including the structure, embryology, evolution, classification, habits, and distribution of all animals, both living and extinct.
