ATROPINE n.
A poisonous, white, crystallizable alkaloid, extracted from the Atropa belladonna, or deadly nightshade, and the Datura Stramonium, or thorn apple. It is remarkable for its power in dilating the pupil of the eye. Called also daturine.
HOMATROPINE n.
An alkaloid, prepared from atropine, and from other sources. It is chemically related to atropine, and is used for the same purpose.
ATROPIA n.
Same as Atropine.
BELLADONNA n.
ves are used as powerful medicinal agents. Its properties are largely due to the alkaloid atropine which it contains. Called also deadly nightshade.
DATURINE n.
Atropine; -- called also daturia and daturina.

white crystalline substance, with a sharp, offensive taste. Hyoscyamine is isomeric with atropine, is very poisonous, and is used as a medicine for neuralgia, like belladonna. Called also hyoscyamia, duboisine, etc.

Pertaining to, or designating, an acid obtained from atropine, and isomeric with cinnamic acid.

es, from which it is extracted as a white amorphous substance. In its action it resembles atropine.

arent oil which has a strong narcotic odor, and a physiological action resembling that of atropine. It is probably related to pyridine.

Of, pertaining to, or designating, an acid obtained from atropine and certain other alkaloids, as a white crystalline substance slightly soluble in water.
TROPINE n.
A white crystalline alkaloid, C8H15NO, produced by decomposing atropine.
