ARCHITRAVE n. 2 definitions
The lower division of an entablature, or that part which rests immediately on the column, esp. in classical architecture. See Column.

ABACUS n.
The uppermost member or division of the capital of a column, immediately under the architrave. See Column.
ARCHIVOLT n.
The architectural member surrounding the curved opening of an arch, corresponding to the architrave in the case of a square opening.
BAND v.
To unite in a troop, company, or confederacy. "Banded against his throne." Milton. Banded architrave, pier, shaft, etc. (Arch.), an architrave, pier, etc., of which the regular profile is interrupted by blocks or projections crossing it at right angles.
