DIOCESAN n.
A bishop, viewed in relation to his diocese; as, the diocesan of New York.
DIOCESE n.
The circuit or extent of a bishop's jurisdiction; the district in which a bishop exercises his ecclesiastical authority. [Frequently, but improperly, spelt diocess.]
