STYLOHYAL n.
A segment in the hyoidean arch between the epihyal and tympanohyal.
SURBASED a.
al height from springing line to crown less than the half span; -- said of an arch; as, a segmental arch is surbased.

THYROHYAL n.
One of the lower segments in the hyoid arch, often consolidated with the body of the hyoid bone and forming one of its great horns, as in man.

extinct at the close of the Paleozoic. So named from the three lobes usually seen on each segment.

Divided nearly to the base into three segments or lobes.

lids including those which construct, and habitually live in, tubes. The head or anterior segments usually bear gills and cirri. Called also Sedentaria, and Capitibranchiata. See Serpula, and Sabella.

Divided about half way from the border to the base into two segments; bifid.
TYMPANOHYAL a.
The proximal segment in the hyoidean arch, becoming a part of the styloid process of the temporal bone in adult man.
