OMNIVORA n.
A group of ungulate mammals including the hog and the hippopotamus. The term is also sometimes applied to the bears, and to certain passerine birds.

Any one of several species of East Indian viverrine mammals of the genus Paguma. They resemble a weasel in form.

An extinct genus of herbivorous Tertiary mammals, once supposed to have resembled the tapir in form, but now known to have had a more slender form, with a long neck like that of a llama. [Written also Palæotherium.]

Any species of Paradoxurus, a genus of Asiatic viverrine mammals allied to the civet, as the musang, and the luwack or palm cat (Paradoxurus hermaphroditus). See Musang.

An outer garment made of the skins of birds or mammals, worn by Eskimos, etc.

The covering, or coat, of a mammal, whether of wool, fur, or hair.
PERISSODACTYLA n.
A division of ungulate mammals, including those that have an odd number of toes, as the horse, tapir, and rhinoceros; -- opposed to Artiodactyla.
PILIFERA n.
Same as Mammalia.
PINNIPEDIA n.
A suborder of aquatic carnivorous mammals including the seals and walruses; -- opposed to Fissipedia.
