CRACKER n.
A nickname to designate a poor white in some parts of the Southern United States. Bartlett.
CRAPE n.
ery ornamental shrub (Lagerströmia Indica) from the East Indies, often planted in the Southern United States. Its foliage is like that of the myrtle, and the flower has wavy crisped petals. -- Oriental crape. See Canton crape.
CRAPPIE n.
A kind of fresh-water bass of the genus Pomoxys, found in the rivers of the Southern United States and Mississippi valley. There are several species. [Written also croppie.]

plant of the tropics, being prepared like potatoes, and has been introduced into the Southern United States.

A huge ray (Manta birostris or Cephaloptera vampyrus) of the Gulf of Mexico and Southern Atlantic coasts. Several other related species take the same name. See Cephaloptera.
