STEM v.
To remove the stem or stems from; as, to stem cherries; to remove the stem and its appendages (ribs and veins) from; as, to stem tobacco leaves.
STIPULE n.
An appendage at the base of petioles or leaves, usually somewhat resembling a small leaf in texture and appearance.
STIPULED a.
Furnished with stipules, or leafy appendages.
STOMAPODA n.
arge and elongated abdomen, which contains a part of the stomach and heart; the abdominal appendages are large, and bear the gills. Called also Gastrula, Stomatopoda, and Squilloidea.
