SPAT n.
A young oyster or other bivalve mollusk, both before and after it first becomes adherent, or such young, collectively.
SPERMATOPHORE n.
ket inclosing a number of spermatozoa. They are present in many annelids, brachiopods, mollusks, and crustaceans. In cephalopods the structure of the capsule is very complex.
SPOUTFISH n.
A marine animal that spouts water; -- applied especially to certain bivalve mollusks, like the long clams (Mya), which spout, or squirt out, water when retiring into their holes.
