ISMAELIAN; ISMAELITE n.
One of a sect of Mohammedans who favored the pretensions of the family of Mohammed ben Ismael, of the house Ali.
ISRAELITE n.
A descendant of Israel, or Jacob; a Hebrew; a Jew.
JASPILITE n.
A compact siliceous rock resembling jasper.
KAMPYLITE n.
tite or arseniate of lead in hexagonal prisms of a fine orange yellow. [Written also campylite.]

A fibrous mineral occurring in tufts of a straw-yellow color. It is a hydrous silicate of alumina and manganese.

A mineral of a gray, red, brown, or green color, and glistening luster. It is a silicate of iron and manganese.

A blackish gray mineral, a sulphide of antimony, bismuth, and lead.

See Cryolite.

A mass of igneous rock intruded between sedimentary beds and resulting in a mammiform bulging of the overlying strata. -- Lac`co*lit"ic, a.
LAZULITE n.
A mineral of a light indigo-blue color, occurring in small masses, or in monoclinic crystals; blue spar. It is a hydrous phosphate of alumina and magnesia.
LEADHILLITE n.
A mineral of a yellowish or greenish white color, consisting of the sulphate and carbonate of lead; -- so called from having been first found at Leadhills, Scotland.

LEPIDOLITE n.
A species of mica, of a lilac or rose-violet color, containing lithia. It usually occurs in masses consisting of small scales. See Mica.
LHERZOLITE n.
An igneous rock consisting largely of chrysolite, with pyroxene and picotite (a variety of spinel containing chromium).
LITHIOPHILITE n.
A phosphate of manganese and lithium; a variety of triphylite.
LONGULITE n.
A kind of crystallite having a (slender) acicular form.
LUCULLITE n.
A variety of black limestone, often polished for ornamental purposes.
