EMOLLIENT n.
An external something or soothing application to allay irritation, soreness, etc.
EMPHASIS n.
t; vivid representation, enforcing assent; as, to dwell on a subject with great emphasis. External objects stand before us . . . in all the life and emphasis of extension, figure, and color. Sir W. Hamilton.
ENDOGENOUS a.
Increasing by internal growth and elongation at the summit, instead of externally, and having no distinction of pith, wood, and bark, as the rattan, the palm, the cornstalk.

One who manifests an exquisite attention to external appearance; one who is overnice in dress or ornament; a fop; a dandy.
