PSALTER n. 3 definitions
The Book of Psalms; -- often applied to a book containing the Psalms separately printed.
QUALM n.
A sudden attack of illness, faintness, or pain; an agony. " Qualms of heartsick agony." Milton.
QUEASY a.
ettled; ticklish. " A queasy question." Shak. Some seek, when queasy conscience has its qualms. Cowper.
RATTAN n.
One of the long slender flexible stems of several species of palms of the genus Calamus, mostly East Indian, though some are African and Australian. They are exceedingly tough, and are used for walking sticks, wickerwork, chairs and seats of chairs, cords and cordage, and many other purposes.
REALM n.
main; a region which is under the dominion of a king; a kingdom. The absolute master of realms on which the sun perpetually alone. Motley.
SAGUS n.
A genus of palms from which sago is obtained.
SELAH n.
A word of doubtful meaning, occuring frequently in the Psalms; by some, supposed to signify silence or a pause in the musical performance of the song. Beyond the fact that Selach is a musical term, we know absolutely nothing about it. Dr. W. Smith (Bib. Dict.)
