PADRONE n.
The master of a small coaster in the Mediterranean.
PARROT n.
fish (Zoöl.), any fish of the genus Scarus. One species (S. Cretensis), found in the Mediterranean, is esteemed by epicures, and was highly prized by the ancient Greeks and Romans.
PELLITORY n.
A composite plant (Anacyclus Pyrethrum) of the Mediterranean region, having finely divided leaves and whitish flowers. The root is the officinal pellitory, and is used as an irritant and sialogogue. Called also bertram, and pellitory of Spain.

A genus of evergreen plants growing along the shores of the Mediterranean, and breading a fruit resembling that of the olive.
