FLATTING n.
A mode of painting,in which the paint, being mixed with turpentine, leaves the work without gloss. Gwilt.

Grain pulverized; meal; flour. [Obs.] The flowers of grains, mixed with water, will make a sort of glue. Arbuthnot.

A whitish, granular rock, consisting of feldspar and quartz intimately mixed; -- sometimes called whitestone, and leptynite.

Small stones, or fragments of stone; very small pebbles, often intermixed with particles of sand.

White mixed with black, as the color of pepper and salt, or of ashes, or of hair whitened by age; sometimes, a dark mixed color; as, the soft gray eye of a dove. These gray and dun colors may be also produced by mixing whites and blacks. Sir I. Newton.

idated, consisting largely of glauconite, a silicate of iron and potash of a green color, mixed with sand and a trace of phosphate of lime.
GRIDELIN n.
A color mixed of white, and red, or a gray violet. [Written also gredaline, grizelin.] Dryden.
