ASSIGNMENT n.
A transfer of title or interest by writing, as of lease, bond, note, or bill of exchange; a transfer of the whole of some particular estate or interest in lands.
ATE n.
In chemistry it is used to denote the salts formed from those acids whose names end -ic (excepting binary or halogen acids); as, sulphate from sulphuric acid, nitrate from nitric acid, etc. It is also used in the case of certain basic salts.

A tremolo effect, such as that produced on the piano by vibratory repetition of a note with sustained use of the pedal.
BERGOMASK n.
A rustic dance, so called in ridicule of the people of Bergamo, in Italy, once noted for their clownishness.

entification of persons by a physical description based upon anthropometric measurements, notes of markings, deformities, color, impression of thumb lines, etc.
