EXALBUMINOUS a.
Having no albumen about the embryo; -- said of certain seeds.

The whites; leucorrhæa.
GALBAN; GALBANUM n.
m the stems of certain Asiatic umbelliferous plants, mostly species of Ferula. The Bubon Galbanum of South Africa furnishes an inferior kind of galbanum. It has an acrid, bitter taste, a strong, unpleasant smell, and is used for medical purposes, also in the arts, as in the manufacture of varnish.

An albuminous substance formed in gastric digestion, and by the action of boiling dilute acids on albumin. It is readily convertible into hemipeptone. Called also hemialbumin.

A West African arboreal monkey (Cercopithecus cynosurus).
METALBUMIN n.
A form of albumin found in ascitic and certain serous fluids. It is sometimes regarded as a mixture of albumin and mucin.
OVALBUMIN; OVALBUMEN n.
The albumin from white of eggs; egg albumin; -- in distinction from serum albumin. See Albumin.
PARALBUMIN n.
A proteidlike body found in the fluid from ovarian cysts and elsewhere. It is generally associated with a substance related to, if not identical with, glycogen.
SERALBUMEN n.
Serum albumin.
SINALBIN n.
A glucoside found in the seeds of white mustard (Brassica alba, formerly Sinapis alba), and extracted as a white crystalline substance.
TALBOT n.
A sort of dog, noted for quick scent and eager pursuit of game. [Obs.] Wase (1654).
TALBOTYPE n.
Same as Calotype.
TOXALBUMIN n.
Any of a class of toxic substances of protein nature; a toxin.
UDAL; UDALBORN; UDALER; UDALMAN n.
Vars. of Odal, etc. Obs. exc. in Shetland and the Orkney Islands, where udal designates land held in fee simple without any charter and free of any feudal character.
VERATRALBINE n.
A yellowish amorphous alkaloid extracted from the rootstock of Veratrum album.
