CANINE a.
he letter r. See R. -- Canine madness, hydrophobia. -- Canine toth, a toth situated between the incisor and bicuspid teeth, so called because well developen in dogs; usually, the third tooth from the front on each side of each jaw; an eyetooth, or the corresponding tooth in the lower jaw.

cut and polished. It burns readily, with a clear, yellow flame, and on this account has been used as a substitute for candles.
