METEORIZE v.
To ascend in vapors; to take the form of a meteor. Evelyn.
MILK n.
r characteristic of milk; a hard white crystalline slightly sweet substance obtained by evaporation of the whey of milk. It is used in pellets and powder as a vehicle for homeopathic medicines, and as an article of diet. See Lactose.

A myriapod with many legs, esp. a chilognath, as the galleyworm. [Written also millipede and milliped.]

A weapon thrown or projected or intended to be projcted, as a lance, an arrow, or a bullet.
MISSIONARY n.
e who is sent on a mission; especially, one sent to propagate religion. Swift. Missionary apostolic, a Roman Catholic missionary sent by commission from the pope.
MISSIVE a.
Missile. "The missive weapons fly." Dryden. Letters missive, letters conveying the permission, comand, or advice of a superior authority, as a sovereign. They are addressed and sent to some certain person or persons, and are distinguished from letters patent, which are addressed to the public.

sensible distances. -- Molecular weight (Chem.), the weight of a molecule of any gas or vapor as compared with the hydrogen atom as a standard; the sum of the atomic weights of the constituents of a molecule; thus, the molecular weight of water (H2O) is 18.

Mormon, first published in 1830. The Mormons believe in polygamy, and their hierarchy of apostles, etc., has control of civil and religious matters.

A weapon consisting of a heavy ball set with spikes, either attached to a staff or suspended from one by a chain. -- Morning watch (Naut.), the watch between four A. M. and eight A. M..

MOUND n.
pied the country when discovered by Europeans. -- Mound maker (Zoöl.), any one of the megapodes. -- Shell mound, a mound of refuse shells, collected by aborigines who subsisted largely on shellfish. See Midden, and Kitchen middens.

An insect having many feet, as a myriapod.
MULTISECT a.
Divided into many similar segments; -- said of an insect or myriapod.
MUSCOVADO a.
of the nature of, unrefined or raw sugar, obtained from the juice of the sugar cane by evaporating and draining off the molasses. Muscovado sugar contains impurities which render it dark colored and moist.
MYRIOPODA n.
See Myriapoda.
MYZOSTOMATA n.
body is short and disklike, with four pairs of suckers and five pairs of hook-bearing parapodia on the under side.
