SUB-BASS n.
The deepest pedal stop, or the lowest tones of an organ; the fundamental or ground bass. [Written also sub-base.] Ayliffe.
SUBCLASS n.
One of the natural groups, more important than an order, into which some classes are divided; as, the angiospermous subclass of exogens.
SUNGLASS n.

A white to gray volcanic tufa, formed of decomposed trachytic cinders; -- sometimes used as a cement. Hence, a coarse sort of plaster or mortar, durable in water, and used to line cisterns and other reservoirs of water. [Formerly written also tarras, tarrace, terras.]
