CAMPHOR n.
A tough, white, aromatic resin, or gum, obtained from different species of the Laurus family, esp. from Cinnamomum camphara (the Laurus camphara of Linnæus.). Camphor, C10H16O, is volatile and fragrant, and is used in medicine as a diaphoretic, a stimulant, or sedative.
CANDEROS n.
An East Indian resin, of a pellucid white color, from which small ornaments and toys are sometimes made.
CANNABIN n.
A pisonous resin extracted from hemp (Cannabis sativa, variety Indica). The narcotic effects of hasheesh are due to this resin.
CAPSICIN n.
A red liquid or soft resin extracted from various species of capsicum.

DAPHNIN n.
A dark green bitter resin extracted from the mezereon (Daphne mezereum) and regarded as the essential principle of the plant. [R.]
