Epidote.

[Written also plebiscit.] Plebiscite we have lately taken, in popular use, from the French. Fitzed. Hall.

A colorless transparent mineral, resembling quartz, occurring with castor or castorite on the island of Elba. It is a silicate of alumina and cæsia. Called also pollux.

A white crystalline substance, C6H7(OH)5, found in acorns, the fruit of the oak (Quercus). It has a sweet taste, and is regarded as a pentacid alcohol.

A zeolitic mineral occuring in delicate radiating groups of white crystals. It is a hydrous silicate of aluminia and lime. Called also lime mesotype.

uscovite occuring in silky scales having a fibrous structure. It is characteristic of sericite schist.
