ASSURER n. 2 definitions
One who assures. Specifically: One who insures against loss; an insurer or underwriter.
ASTEROID n.
A starlike body; esp. one of the numerous small planets whose orbits lie between those of Mars and Jupiter; -- called also planetoids and minor planets.
ASTONISHMENT n.
The condition of one who is stunned. Hence: Numbness; loss of sensation; stupor; loss of sense. [Obs.] A coldness and astonishment in his loins, as folk say. Holland.

An old astronomical instrument, formed of two cones, on whose surface the constellations were delineated.
