SUBTECTACLE n.
A space under a roof; a tabernacle; a dwelling. [Obs.] Davies (Holy Roode).
SUBVAGINAL a.
Situated under or inside a sheath or vaginal membrane; as, the subvaginal, or subdural, spaces about the optic nerve.

An ornament placed at the bottom of a short page to fill up the space, or at the end of a book. Savage.

A work usually in the form of a redan, to inclose a space before a door or staircase, or at the gorge of a larger work. It is arranged like a stockade.

THIN a.
Not close; not crowded; not filling the space; not having the individuals of which the thing is composed in a close or compact state; hence, not abundant; as, the trees of a forest are thin; the corn or grass is thin. Ferrara is very large, but extremely thin of people. Addison.
