FORMATIVE n.
A word formed in accordance with some rule or usage, as from a root.
FOUL a.
Not conformed to the established rules and customs of a game, conflict, test, etc.; unfair; dishonest; dishonorable; cheating; as, foul play.
FRAUDULENT a.
Obtained or performed by artifice; as, fraudulent conquest. Milton.
FRIGATE n.
of steam to navigation steam frigates of largely increased size and power were built, and formed the main part of the navies of the world till about 1870, when the introduction of ironclads superseded them. [Formerly spelled frigat and friggot.]
FROND n.
The organ formed by the combination or union into one body of stem and leaf, and often bearing the fructification; as, the frond of a fern or of a lichen or seaweed; also, the peculiar leaf of a palm tree.

A white arc or circle in the sky attending frosty weather and formed by reflection of sunlight from ice crystals floating in the air; the parhelic circle whose center is at the zenith.

The part of a solid next the base, formed by cutting off the, top; or the part of any solid, as of a cone, pyramid, etc., between two planes, which may be either parallel or inclined to each other.

A small gable, or gable-shaped canopy, formed over a tabernacle, niche, etc.
GALLSTONE n.
A concretion, or calculus, formed in the gall bladder or biliary passages. See Calculus, n., 1.

Pertaining to, or resulting from, sexual connection; formed by the union of the male and female elements.
GAMMADION n.
A cross formed of four capital gammas, formerly used as a mysterious ornament on ecclesiastical vestments, etc. See Fylfot.
GAMOSEPALOUS a.
Formed of united sepals; monosepalous.
GANGLION n.
A globular, hard, indolent tumor, situated somewhere on a tendon, and commonly formed by the effusion of a viscid fluid into it; -- called also weeping sinew. Ganglion cell, a nerve cell. See Illust. under Bipolar.
GANGWAY n.
A passage or way into or out of any inclosed place; esp., a temporary way of access formed of planks.
