TINDER n.
Something very inflammable, used for kindling fire from a spark, as scorched linen. German tinder. Same as Amadou. -- Tinder box, a box in which tinder is kept.
TONSILITIS n.
Inflammation of the tonsil; quinsy. [Written also, and more usually, tonsillitis.]
