APPROBATION n.
ud hum of approbation. Macaulay. The silent approbation of one's own breast. Melmoth. Animals . . . love approbation or praise. Darwin.
APPROPRIATOR n.
A spiritual corporation possessed of an appropriated benefice; also, an impropriator.
APPROXIMATION n.
The act of approximating; a drawing, advancing or being near; approach; also, the result of approximating. The largest capacity and the most noble dispositions are but an approximation to the proper standard and true symmetry of human nature. I. Taylor.

A driving or running towards; approach; impulse; also, the act of striking against. In all consonants there is an appulse of the organs. Holder.

The state of being arborescent; the resemblance to a tree in minerals, or crystallizations, or groups of crystals in that form; as, the arborescence produced by precipitating silver.

The appearance or figure of a tree or plant, as in minerals or fossils; a dendrite.
ARBUTUS; ARBUTE n.
clusters, and appearing early in the spring; in New England known as mayflower; -- called also ground laurel. Gray.
