CASCARON n.
Lit., an eggshell; hence, an eggshell filled with confetti to be thrown during balls, carnivals, etc. [Western U. S.]
CINGULUM n.
A distinct girdle or band of color; a raised spiral line as seen on certain univalve shells.
COLUMBELLA n.
A genus of univale shells, abundant in tropical seas. Some species, as Columbella mercatoria, were formerly used as shell money.

The upright pillar in the axis of most univalve shells.
