CALYCOZOA n.

Hollow and curved or rounded; vaulted; -- said of the interior of a curved surface or line, as of the curve of the of the inner surface of an eggshell, in opposition to convex; as, a concave mirror; the concave arch of the sky.

he act of defilading a fortress, or of raising the exterior works in order to protect the interior. See Defilade.
DEFILEMENT n.
The protection of the interior walls of a fortification from an enfilading fire, as by covering them, or by a high parapet on the exposed side.
